DAY 35 -- holi day 5

woke up very early too..no tt i hav super memory..jus tt i wrote down our reporting time!!hahhax.. so yeah we left Montreal to Quebec City..is a long long journey..but look at the photos below n ya..it is all worth it..yup..our morning are greeted with those beautiful autumn trees=D i miss them~

our cam too lousy le ba..cant take very clear pic w us n e leaves the crazy 3~hahhax so high over the fallen leaves!!

so we video it down..but is really too cold le we cant stop jumping!!hahhax..

we wanted to brng the leaves back but ya la..aft awhile they become dry n brown le if only we hav tis type of carpark in sin..i promise i ll practise my parking till perfect.hahhax=D

then went to duty free shop, got my ice wine there..they say is cheaper than other places eventhough i still tink it is ex..but ya..dou go there le..buy lor..hhax..VISA really useful..hahahx..buy liao jiu hav to clear the custom..is very simple de..jus sit on the bus then the officer come up check our passport jiu can le..our custom officer very funny...aft checking out passport knowing tt we frm sin he started asking the 3 of us abt singapore..ask abt F1 food weather size..hahhx.so in like 15mion we clear the custom..hahhax..rather it is jus like a checkpoint..n ya back to US to boston=)hahx sammy said smtimes they will wei na us n can only clear it 2-3hrs..but today cos got 3 mei nu..hahhax..so yeah..thx to us=))hahhax

we reach boston @ dinner time..abt 7plus le..ya..so they went to hav their lobster dinner..as usually we didnt sign up for it..so idiot de they brought us to a restaurant on a hill..and the only place to makan is tt restaurant..luckily we r well prepared..we brought cup noodles the day b4..but die la no water..n so i follow the grp up n ask the waitress to help me fill my pink bottle with hot water..hahhax..hahhax we really very singaporean i can say..hahahx..thx to my big bottle the water is jus enough to cook our 3 cup noodles=)

hahx finally im here to cont blogging, hopefully i can finish blogging down all the memories i had abt my upenn trip=)

so yeah..day 4 if the east coast trip..aft thousand island we move on to Ottawa (the capital of canada)

so yeah..visited quite alot of places..until i cant even rmb which place is tt luckily i wrote down some notes along the way..hahhx..day 4 was nth much as compared to the previous 2 days @ Nigara..but still the islands are really an eye-opener..is damn beautiful but too bad we can only look at it frm far. parliment building n stuff really jus stop take pic n go. ya St joseph Church was boring at first when 'dao tou' keep rantting..hahx but aft u went up and open the door to the outside..it was WOAH!! WOAH!! WOAH!! really im on the top of the world looking! plus the wind~n there isnt any fences or wat to block ur view..not like CN tower..n the view wasnt jus tall buildings but old western type of building w beautiful autumn leaves..i guess we r really lucky to be there during autumn..when the weather are the nicest n e scenery too=D

DAY 34 --holi day 4

stayed a night at toronto..early in the morning depart to thousand island @ saint lawrence river..took a boat to tour the 1800 over islands..but some are really small la..jus a tree on it they consider an island le..but some really beautiful nice houses built on it.. place dao you brought them for breakfast.,.but we prepared our own

im back!!

after like 26hr of flight plus transit finally we reach singapore=)northwest really cmi..the seats are so cramp n uncomfortable..the food are horrible..service ye hao bu dao na li..the transit time was like so rush lor..anyway is over..

so yup thx for coming to jie wo n brng me to hav prata..hahx so miss it lor..hmmm i tink im having jetlag..most probably ba..cant get to slp leh..was tossing here n there keep looking at time..and the weather is real HOT here la!!

so ya we ended our trip with a 2day stay at newyork manhantten inn hostel..not bad la..atleast is not worst..hhax.so frm one street to another we walk n walk to find cheap broadway show to watch!!so crazy la..actually plan to jus watch one..cos is so expensive!!but ya we watched mary popping n hair spray..hahhax..nice nice..so apart frm broadway show we didnt really get to shop..anyway my luggage full le la..so doesnt really matter=)

ppl at newyork are so different frm philly de..they work super fast la hav to catch up with their pace lor..and they anyhow jiu can cross de road de..no1 seem to care abt traffic light..yup yup..our 2days at new york basically jiu like tt..gai kan de during the tour dou kan le..so nth much..

DAY 39

last night here at dr wang place le..hav been here for the past 5wks liao..sort of get use le..but still home will be better ba..for sure it will be..hmmm we leaving tml morning to new york n will fly back on fri=)

this will be the last time im sitting on this bed blogging le ba...the nxt time i blog ying gai already reach home le..hhax still got 4more days of my holi tt i havent blog..reach home le then blog ba..so sorry woah..but ni men sure will rather me to be back n tell u my story personally then reading them through my blog ba??right??hahhx..

so went out to center city...then hav dinner with lit soo n elaine nurses frm sin taking their pHD at Upenn..so honoured to hav noe them lor..we hav thai food nice nice nice~

but when we reach home we saw smt disguisting through our window lor!!is to disgusting to be blog!!anyway ya..so when to bid farewell to the french family, lisa, kate..dr wang havent reach home..so ya lor..still waiting for her..most of the stuff dou pack hao le..we are ready to go new york n soon will be back home..

DAY 33 --hol day 3

i guess i wont forget tis day..1st october08..is such a wonderful experience to be so close with the fall n everything is jus so worth it..if only u all were there with me..anyway yup so early in the morning we went over to canada to look at the falls from it side..it is really much more nicer than wat we saw last night..

DAY 32 -- hol day 2

woke up real early la!!america too big le la..from one place to another need hours de..so no choice lor..7 we jiu chu fa to hersey chocolate world..picture taken on the bus=)

DAY 31 -- holiday day 1

hhax the day b4 we so funny la..set up line hang our clothes on fan n aircon eventhough we are already freezing..so tt our clothes will dry if not no clothes to brng leh..so anyway we woke up lke 5plus left house at 630..but reach there damn early lor..we suppose to meet at 8..so we walk around take pic liao siao de keep jumping at a field to take pic getting ready
after dunno how many NG!!hahx we too cold le trying to do some exercise!!

im back from my 7day6night U.S canada east coast trip!! tired tired tired!! met lotx of nice ppl..saw lotx of beautiful scenery..niagara is really wonderful!! when u r there the feeling is really different..these few daysa really cold lor..abt less then 10 to abt 12..but still manage to survive with jus jacket..hhax!! our tourmates were all like wearing dong yi..hahx..anyway i ll blog again tml la..then can post all the mei mei photos=)

DAY 30

went for brunch at Inn of Penn w dr muecke geri n our course instructor kate n lisa..so formal la..introduce ourself again n compare the differences among the 4 countries..US, sin, china n thai..interesting la jus too formal..but the brunch buffet really nice..then we so singaporean lor..the instructor going off le but we haven finiah eating our fruits...so ya la they left first..then aft tt we took the small jam n cereals home..hahx..so our tour can save on bf..so kiasu lor..anyway..yup n went Penn bkstore too..settle most of the presents liao..happy happy=)geri.ellen(asst course director).us.ann marie(course director).dr muecke

hahx we went down franklin mill again!!cos first tt time only covered half of the mall still got another half lor!!n second tt time angela brought abag for 129usd..but then she found a price tag on tt bad tt only say 89.90 so went back to ask the person

jiu shop lor till like 9plus!!hahx first time so late go home..somemore 1n half hr ride back...headache la!!oso dunno wat to buy back home for ni men..most shop sells clothes, shoes hard to buy back!!oso dunno ni men de size..but anyway still manage to get smt for some ppl la..ya..i brought a really cute bear..hen xi huan lor=))

hmmm i mus sure blog abt this...we when to the foodcourt to hav lunch..and our rice w 2dish cost us like 6.41usd..actually is 5.99 de then still hav to add tax!!crazy de!!6.41=abt s$9 lor..can eat 3plate of hokkian mee!!

DAY 28

we actually wanted to go to franklin sci museum either last fri or today de..but last fri no time then today dr wang told us she will brng us to free jazz concert and a party so we you nvr go le lor..but in the end the jazz concert end up to be some singer came to tok to the public abt voting for obama n the party = watch the debate between mcCain n Obama!!first time watch political stuff sia..hmm dont really uds wat they toking abt but in general its a gd experience i guess..we dont get to see all this in sin..yup yup..and obama is so hot here at penn..every1 toking abt him....we oso went to this really beautiful shopping center..didnt catch the name but is 150yrs liao..things there are super expensive!! visted 3 of the hotel in town too..Ritz carlton, Lowes and Marriott..i was like wearing slippers la!!she brought us to the top of Lowes to look at the whole city area but raining la..shen mo dou kan bu dao..so sad lor..nth much happen today actually..post the pic another day ba..now too tired liao..gd ntiex=)

DAY 27

last day of clinical n our attachment here at Penn!!woken up by my stupid alarm lor..dreaming abt smt de!!but woke up first ting i saw was a smiling moon..so happy le lor..hahha..so yup my day started really well jus tt im more freeze then any other day..

along the way thought abt the time here..everything is going way too fast le..i cant believe im here for 4wks le..i been hoping to fly somewhere for attachment for the past yr..and now without me knowing it is coming to an end!!rather it has ended!!

took picture w my clinical mates and some of the interesting stuff they hav here tt we dont hav back in sin..then share my experience n tell them abt the differences b/w here n sin..basically jiu like tt..oh ya..today finally done smt more=)help a pt sponge all alone..then tok to him and he keep thank-ing me lor..i didnt do much but ya..i guess tis is wat keep the passion going..no matter where u are nursing jiu shi nursing..the more i move on the more i know this is where i wanna be=) kelly(my partner for today).jennifer(our SN).me

DAY 26

last day of lecture!!on cardiovascular de..okay lor go through the common symptoms of heart attach n interpretation of ecg n stuff..last day le ma so took a pic with ann marieby right shld hav follow my new partner to choose pt aft class the but in the end we head straight to franklin mills..the ride there is like 1n a half hr..so long lor..take trollet then change train then change bus again...the mall really damn big!!we walk frm like 2 to 730 jus complete 2 section still got 2 more lor..then the shops are all factory outlet so is cheaper than other places..manage to get smt back home for some of you...but then right..the guys stuff here really irritating la..the shirt all so da jian de..elephant oso can wear lor..so pls be prepared tt u all dont hav anything okay!!hahahx..hahahx..hahax..and when 3 gals shop at big malls..they usually skip those shop tt sells guys stuff..hhhax.. still bright when we reach!!

is so cold!!the wind keep blowing lor then we so ke lian wait at their so call bus stop which is a lamp post for like 30min..then the bus tt we suppose to take come le..but the bus no is not shown..so we dunno ma..aft it left then we realis lore..jiu faster run to another busstop(the bus will loop)cause some1 told us very fast the bus jiu will loop liao..hai wo men dash across the road..in the end still hav to wait for like 10 mins!!

DAY 25

clinical!!hmm so followed Blair, my new partner..the pt we hav today is really nice to work with..he knows his condition very well n most imptly he is doing all tt he suppose to be doing post-operatively to help himself get better...so ya..hopefully he will be fine..then suppose to be able to observe a doctor shock a pt w AF back to normal sinus..but today the pt's heart rhythm getting better so they hold back the procedure..so ke xi lor..but tis oso means the pt getting better..so hai hao lor..the SN tt we hav today really nice..she brought us around with her to see all her pt..so got to see this pt with this big machine tt act as his heart to help pump his bld..the machine very bulky la but atleast it help him to stay alive..he look really well jus tt he has to brng tt machine wherever he go lor..ya..

aft clinical went to hav pizza lunch with ann marie..she set dates for different clinical grp to meet her for lunch n get to know them better..jiu eat lor felt quite out of place..cos dont really uds wat they toking..tok so fast..the way students n lec interact are really very very different frm sin.. she ordered 2big pan of this..which is like 16slice for the 9 of us..but really salty so i jus ate one..at 39th spruce st..the way to hospital of pennsylvania=)

the weather getting colder liao..nvr on aircon oso like slping in aircon rm..n is like freezing in the morning la..even now when im typing my fingers are icy cold..jiu like tt ba..take care all~

is sunday!!hahx woke up earlier than the past 2 days..hmm done smt tt im not suppose to do..but anyway morning planned to wash the toilet n tidy the rm abit while waiting for angela to come back frm her service b4 going out de..but then online jiu dunno how to go off liao..hahx..so thx meijiao=))

dr wang brought us xiao shuang n mum n kate(frm thai) to art museum...sunday is free but then we reach there already like 4 plus..n they close at 5..so didnt really get to see anything..think will go back nxt sun ba..ya.. walking towards the art museum...leaves are slowly turning red.. we so high when we saw singapore flag!!

hahx..fun fun n fun..seriously we aint here for attachment lor!! ppl at other places they are doing so many things n learning so many skills..but all we do here is vital sign physical assessment(we wont even do this in sin..) n housekeeping stuff!! w lousy clinical experience..we hav to make our trip more interesting!! so when down Penn landing along delaware river w the french family n dr wang..everything is so perfect n nice..nice weather nice sky nice scenery..i jus so love blue sky water boat n wind=) waiting for train to PEnn landing

6am's philadelphia
clinical again!! so tired today..but still manage to pull throught the morning conference..so care for a different pt today..she is so nice n possitive abt everything..eventhough negative treatment outcome n complication keep happening to her..listen to her heart..really weird beat..then jiu observe my clinical partner serve meds..hmmm everything so high tech n computerize here..their IMR is online de..sign oso sign online..then medication all pre-pack by the pharmacist de..so one small packet jus got tt tablet tt is require for the pt..didnt brng camera today la..so didnt get to take pic of it..will take it nxt wk i guess..aft tt went to observe a PICC line inserttion..is a specialize nurse do de..she so gd lor..explain every single step n equiment required..still let me brng home stuff tt we dont hav back in singapore..yup yup..so clinical was much better than the first day..but as usual pt rm are very very messy!!anyway ya...

DAY 19

Test!! didnt really prepare well la..but still hav to take lor..hmmm the test was so different frm wat we hav back at nyp la..eventhough is mcq but their choices cmi de lor..all so close de..dont even know wat to choose..then got 5 ques need give explanation de..dont really hav confident to score well..but then again i dont really bother whether i do well or not la..hahhx

so aft test..the rest of them hav co-operative test..where they are divided into grp n take the test again as a grp..if the co-operative test better than their individual test..i tink they can add 5 marks to their score..hahx..so weird lor..but got extra marks who dont wan..anyway ann marie told us we dont need to take tt..so around 1030 we jiu end sch n went chinatown to look for tour agency=))

found one package buy 2 get 1 free..cost abt 4oousd..7days to washinton dc, boston, niagara fall, toronto n ny i tink..they say is quite reasonable..but then hav to use cash to pay..tts the prob..i didnt brng alot of cash here lor..use it to pay i jiu left with not much le somemore 400 not inclusive of food n addmission charges..hopefully i still hav some money left to buy present!!but i doubt so la..so ya..dont expect much from me ba..hahhax..i do wat i can okay??yup yup

my first chinese food here..but this taste horrible! food we brought @ the first grocery shopping!!fried rice..got hotdog n egg la..carrot, potato, corn n french bean soup..the corn is very nice=)abc soup, egg w french bean n potato i tink..hahx.cant rmbhunan chicken rice n snapple!! rice cost 4usd..snapple 12 for 9usdfried rice..got hotdog n eggsweet n sour chicken..this is chicken de but i ate pork de..green tea weird mooncake dr wang brought for usspaghetti w abc soup..hahx weird combination..the soup is nice~salmon rice bowl..treat frm senior=)choosing peach..very cheap one bag only cost 1usd..aft dinner we oways will eat fruits de..yummy dinner at chinatown!!but very poor service!!hahhx..one of our breakfast..got cookie frm subway n angela's leftover frm yday's lunch..angel cake frm xiao shuang bday(american like to eat this..but is very very sweet!!) n waffles!!porridge w sardine n mince chicken plus cai xin..the chicken really not bad..chicken dumpling noodle..so happy can zhao dao this mee..it dont look nice but is not bad la..

DAY 18

finally actual clinical starting!! hmmm so abt 615 me n mj left the house..angela's clinical starts later..it was so cold outside lor..the weather turning cold i guess..hopefully!!so ya..saw a different scenery today..too bad quite a no of dark clouds cant really kan de sunrise..

reach the ward..have pre conference w Marybeth (my Clinical Instructor)..here they jus address name de..so ya..she go through our patient with us..and tell us wat to expect b4 the start of the day..here students are allowed to choose their own pt to care for..ya but the cases they pick all abit chim de lor..lotx of past history n stuff..but when come to actual nursing care actually there is nth much for us to do..jus vital sign physical assessment hypocount NGT feeding..tts all..sponging is not done by RN..and the rm is like in a mess la..so i help to clear lor..not used to going into a messy rm..all this is done within an hour la..the rest of the time slack!!

then oso went in to listen to their discharge round..where the doctors, APN(advance practice nurse), pharmactist, social worker n the nurse incharge sit down n tok abt the care of the pt n whether they fit for discharge n the goals for them...there is alot going on the..every1 will voice out they opinion lotx of critical thinking going on..tts so different frm sin la...

nearing to end of shift..one of my clinical mates fainted along the corridor..the nurses' responded very fast..but is like abit kua zhang i tink..they even call up the rapid respond team to come n look at her..she is all right la..jus tt nvr take her breakfast..so set plug put on IV..her bp got back she is fine..ya..

hmmm manage to took the pic of the ward n rooms..but i dont tink can post la..ya..got to know abt the nurses pay here too!!is like so much higher than us la!!so irritating..they work 12hr shift..3days a wk..and earn 70k a yr!!nurse pt ratio 1:4..no need serve diet, do sponging or make bed..they can jus eat at the nurses' counter anytime they like..maybe i shld really consider working overseas nxt time!!

anyway tml got test..time to study..

hmmm went for lecture in the morning..so sleepy lor..luckily got m&m n lays!!hhax..hmmm nth much about lesson..jus tt we going to hav a test on wed..so got to really start studying!!

aft lesson went down to HUP(hospital of the university of pennsylvania) with kerry my clinical partner to select a patient for tml..yup...hahx..the pt she select is really challenging la..got lotx of past medical history somemore on sucidal caution n is noted as social withdrawal de..tink im gonna hav a interesting day tml..hopefully=))

then there is this tea session tt we hav to attend..the dean welcoming all the staff..we dont wanna go de..but ya la..ms geri wanted us to be there...so no choice lor..hmm so BREADS N CHEESE again!!but ya with some nice cookies..the cookies here are nice..yup yup..then they introduce us to some ppl..every1 ask the same thing de..so we jus keep repeating the same thing over n over again..so gan ga la..

and so here we are back home..check results..hmmm i dunno wat to say abt it..not wat i expected i guess..but ya..nthing i can do abt it le..

so tired now..guess i shld catch some slp b4 preparing for tml clinical n study ba..yup

HAPPY MID AUTUMN!! xiao shuang's lantern..hahx

nth special happen today..usual sunday laundry watch show n went to get some daily stuff n fruits!! the peach n apples here are so sweet n nice la..not like sin!!hahx..but then i oso dunno y la..at the laundry shop i was telling angela to be careful got step..and the next ting is i fall n sprain my ankle n hav some abrasion on my knee..so stupid lor..but ya la..still manage to walk home..yup yup..then dr wang gave us a slice of mooncake each..hmm it taste like herb..i so miss lian rong mooncake with yolk...hopefully when i m back hai you de chi ba..ya..hmm today hai shi cant find the moon..anyway hope every1 hav fun back in sin..happy mid autumn=))

waited for dr wang till like 3 then we went down to chinatown for the mid autumn festival..is really crowded lor..lotx of chinese!!hahx..but the performance start at 6pm..so we went around to walk walk n search for rice..the one tt sell at the supermarket we oways go..lisa say not nice so we trying to find rice tt we usually hav in sin..there so many chi shhop over there..see all those familiar stuff we like xiao hai zi like tt la..oso dunno happy for wat..hahx..

start of another long wkend..woke up quite early..so jiu online lor..aftnoon we headed to south street to shop!!very sian de lor..the other time we went there oso rain..now oso rain..quite heavily somemore n very very windy..but still dou at there le..hai shi yao shop de la..hahx..at night we help xiao shuang to celebrate his 2nd birthday..he is such a lovely n clever boy la..then dr wang keep ask the 3 of us to faster get married n sheng yi ge..hahx..hmmm still long la..mus first find some1 to sheng lor..hahx..anyway jiu zhe yang ba..pictures!! trolley to 13th street to change septa train(aka kuai che) to somewhere near but not very near south street..about 3 street up n 5street across
trolley 34, 61st via baltimore means it route is along baltimore street till 61st street..we staying at 45th baltimore..every street there is one stop..

wasted another day..hmmm went for clinical..but today my grp need to go for sunrise that is a course to go through the computer system of the hospital..i no need to go..so can report work late..ya lor..1130 report 1230 CI jiu release us le..damn slack la..she jus go through how to read the patient record tts all..hahx..so ya hav lunch at the hosp cafe..the food really cmi la..2 slice of bread with cheese n mushroom cost 2.80usd lor..ex yet not nice at all..chi dao so ni feel like vomiting lor..but cooked a nice dinner tonight=) i love the corn..hhax..ya..

hmmm attempted to be hardworking..but i failed la..hahx..thought maybe i shld read up b4 the real attachment start n oso bu yao waste the med surg bk we carried all the way back frm sch..but ya la..i read like a pg or 2..i jiu fall aslp liao..hahx..hai wo now so tired la!!thats the heavy med surg n thick notes!!penn card!! they take our pic on the spot n the card ready in minutes..wit this card can sit free bus!!hahhx..but the bus only operate aft 6pm=(

hahx..is already day 12..i guess is time to blog about work ba!! hhax..ms roselin reminded us 80% work 20% play..but ya la..u all know im not really working very hard at the moment..

my ward is a post-op cardia ward..i prefer medical ward though..hhax..but heard from my CI most pt undergo open heart surgery n some can hav up to 5 chest tube..hahx..cool yeah..then most pt there anytime can end up with cardiac arrest throwing VT/VF or anything la..really hope can meet some interesting case la..seriously bu xiang waste my time here lor..ya..

DAY 9

is sunday=) angela wasnt feeling very well..her turn to hav flu n fever..so ya lor we didnt go anywhere far..jus went out with meijiao to do laundry n buy some grocery back home to cook..

first stop laundry!!
we so 'su gu' la..hahhax..blur blur step into the shop thought got ppl help us wash..but is need zi ji operate the washing machine de..somemore we dunno need brng own detergent de..hahx..funny la we 2...an aunty told us to go outside buy..then we walk up n down looking for shop tt see detergent..but dont hav lor...in the end wat she mean is the uncle tt sit outside the shop sell detergent de..so ya la..stupid us..okay brought detergent n it cost 3.99 for like 497ml!! then the pic show pour the detergent into the center of the spinner..then i thought can open...keep turning the top cover..hahhax..but ya la..shi cannot open de..wah..stupid x2..so ya throw all our clothes in pour detergent..tong coins..close lid..off we go for food!

2nd stop veg n fruit lorry..
the fruits n veg there mostly 1 bag 1usd..is so so so cheap la..somemore look quite nice n fresh..a big box of grapes only cost 2.50usd..is really nice n sweet..ya ya..

3rd stop supreme bag n save..
hahx..we really very typical SINGAPOREAN + HOUSEWIFE..or is it jus me??hahx..anyway ya la..first thing is to flip through all the offer..so we went through the list..keep comparing the price n even the net weight of the stuff we buying...hhax..so funny la..one ting very idiot lor..thursday we brought 12bottles of snapple at 8.99..now offer 2x 12bottle only 10!!qi si ren le lor..but nvm we brought buy 1 get 1 free bread n ICE CREAM!! hahahx...but the bread really expensive la..siao de lor 1 loaf cost 3.59usd..luckily now buy 1 free 1..ya la...
so buy buy buy..the reciept got show spent n save de..so we spent $16+ n save $ 9.54...hhahax..li hai ba...hahhx..

all the stuff damn heavy la..but ya la..still hav to go back laundry shop..okay this time not tt bad..atleast nvr keep walking up n down..but then oso hai bu dao na li..the sign wrote 7.5min for 25cent..so we tong one quater into it..n sit at a step n wait la..then 7.5min over..but de one beside us still spinning lor..theirs put in earlier then us the leh..so i tell mj..y like tt de..ours spoilt arh??hahx..so funny la..then we take out the clothes..still wet lor..so mj started yen jui-ing the sign...in the end there is a small 'every' there..tt is 7.5min for every 25cent..so is hav to tong more de..not 25cent jiu can dry the clothes!!lame de lor...how we know sia..so we jiu tong n wait again lor..n tong n wait..we spin 3 times la...but some cloth still haven dry but some like chao da like tt..crispy crispy le...anyway ya la..ice cream melt le la..so jiu headed back home!!

every time we reach home..only feel like doing smt..on the aircon n lie down flat..hahx..really tired frm walking n carrying all the heavy stuff back home...anyway ya la..so reach home rest a while..jiu start prepare dinner lor..hmmm not tt bad..the mince chicken n the egg goes well plus the soy sauce Lisa(frm china) brought..wanted to buy chicken thigh de..saw a really easy recipe on the website gk gave me..but ya it cost 7dollar for like 3 la..so crazy..ya la n veg w hahx pasta sauce..no choice la..tt veg stink!!hmmm really regretted not brnging more rice over..shld hav jus brng both pkt tt mummy pack hao de..ya lor ya lor.. our dinner!!

Day 7 night

is friday..

so fast one wk past le..

hmm went out in the night with dr wang n the family staying at the first level..their son so cute n handsome lor..hhax..very hyper but when we look at him he will shy shy..hahx..he is sooo cute!!! anyway ya we took trolley then change a "kuai che" tis how dr wang say la..jiu shi a train tt is very fast la..ahhax.that area wasss so different frm the places tt we went the other time..tis place more wild ba..ya..nightclubs bar pub all around..then walk to south street..most shop dou close le la..haven cclose de dou shi bar or coffee hse or sell food de la..ya..

but so suay la..walk till half it rain lor..luckily we brought umbrella out..hahx..i dunno y la..kan dao rain i so high..hahx..its been really hot here for the past few days lor..the first 2 day we came the weather really nice la..glaring sun but nice cooling weather..aft tt the sun really can kill!! dr wang was saying the weather getting bad n weird..dunno la..global warming i guess!!so irritating..

DAY 5

still down with flu..so sickening la..use to pop in 1 flu tablet n i will be okay de..i ate like 3 le lor..so ya first day of lesson..all i can say is no matter where u r..sch are jus boring!!and make ppl feel like sleeping..hahx..somemore Dr ann was like repeating the things she told us yday to the class la..so it was double boring!! the class was like only 70 ppl..maybe cos is a degree course ba..so smaller grp..quite a no of asian there..ya..

went shopping for food again then head home..still wasnt feeling very well so frm like 3plus i slpt till like 9..hhahahx..mj n angela oso very funny lor..they were toking when im slpping so smtimes i will wake up n tok to them..then in the end around 6 they fall aslp too..until now then wake up to bath n stuff..hahx..so funny la..when i woke up the rm so dark see them dou slp liao..still thought is aft midnight liao..hahx..so funny la..maybe we are experiencing jetlag now??hahhax..

DAY 4

finally we are going to sch liao..hahx luckily marjorie brought us there..if not i tink we sure get lost de..the building wasnt very easy to spot de..so ya lor..somemore even brought us up to dr muecke office..she used to work there..ya..ppl here are really friendly n helpful de..need any help jus tell them they will be more than happy to help de..ya lor ya lor..so wont really get lost ba..somemore got alot of police patrol around here..if u get lost or feel uncomfortble walking back home at night they can even accompany u home or drive u back de..

so ya sch...reach there..they prepare a room for us to use..got computer then got welcome package..map of the sch where to go n stuff..ya lor..then after tt when to attend a global health student meeting..we gong gong over there so lost lor..the students over here really very different from us de..in sin we will jus keep quiet listen to the lecturer tok n tok n tok..but here they will keep ask question n wont shy shy bu xiang introduce themselves de..ya ya..

very idiot lor..dunno y i catch a cold..since yday i been sneezing then sorethroat n got flu..today morning wake up even worst...felt feverish n so fatigue la..ate parace..when in sch better le..fever gone..but then when walk back home..the sun too strong le..the fever came back lor..so irritating la..shall slp early today..gd nitex

DAY 3

hahx..slack at home whole day lor..i know we are in the UNITED STATE OF AMERICA...far away from home..spent 2k+ to fly over here..but we lazy to go out la..so ya lor..stay at home..hahx..keep trying to connect to internet again la..but dr wang not bad yet so her's is not repaired la..still trying to tag on others de..hahx..jiu play diner dash lor..hahx..but got once very lucky la..still manage to video call deb..but damn lag la..ya..better then nth i guess..yup yup..

let me post the pic of dr wangs place...so here is it..where we stay..we stay at the third level..that is the top level..the stairs quite scary de..abit steep...ya ya..she prepared 2rooms for us..both hav aircorn..then got small kitchen, fridge, cooking pots n pan n utensile lor..hai you toilet..ya..we really got a great deal la..apart from hav to walk 9street to sch n 11street to the hosp..for USD530..is really worth it i guess..hahx..most impt got aircon n can cook la!!ya..eventhough is autume can get quite warm too..ya..

Day 2..

we start our day keep trying to connect to the internet..but the connection was really poor la..some prob with dr wang's wireless..so for the whole day when we are at home..we jiu keep trying to find the best spot to connect lor...so irritating la!! the connection keep cut off..now then i realise the impt of having internet lor..without tt we really cant do anything much lor..cant sms for free can go online..日子难过sia..hahx..but thx to yut la..gave me some cds to watch n leave some games for me to play..hahx.so not tt bad..

went out to city area with dr wang too..she going there to take bus to new york..so we went down with her..took trolley...which is their bus...hahx..havent take a pic of it..nxt time ba..ya..one ride is USD 1.45..regardless of the distance travel..hav to buy a token from a machine then tong when go up the bus de..ya..then the trolley will enter a tunnel..dark dark de lor..but ppl over here usually dont take bus the..they either walk or cycle..got bicycle lane on the road too..ya ya..hahx we reach the city too early le la..was only 11plus..most shop havent open lor..ya..cos sunday ma most of them hav to go to church..so the shop mostly open aft 12..ya ya..jiu hav our lunch first lor..subway!! yup the price was almost the same as sin la..footlong cost USD 5..they hav pizza too..ya..not bad..was so full aft tt la..walk around..shopping time!!hahx..their hallmark damn cool la..got so many cards!!really alot..the whole shop only sells cards..many many different types lor..all very interesting de..ya..tt shop make my day..hahx..i jus love to look at cards=)hahx..looking at the cards remind me of the birthday card honey lemon lime gave to deb...ahahhahx..oh yes the nike n addidas stuff over here..some are really cheap la..a bag cost only like 14.50..shoe some only 35..but second day only..we didnt get anything much la..jus walk walk see see..ya..hhax...we saw smt interesting...look at tis..so cool right..dunno whether is it useful..hahx..who hav very serious menstral cramp??maybe i can help u all get tis??hahx..but i dunno how much leh..hahhx..

hahx time really pass very very fast here lor..we walk walk jiu like 330 liao..so heading back home..the city was street 12..we stay at street 45..hahx..but ya..mus save ma..take trolley abit ex arh..so jiu decide to walk home..and at the same time can look around too ma...ya..hahx..we keep stop along de way to take pic la..then pass by some grocery stall jiu stop by to get some ingredients to cook la..so from 330 we walk n walk n walk till 8 then reach home lor..is really far..but ya..guess there are more walking to come..hahx..luckily the weather was nice..the sun very glaring la..but wont sweat the..the wind very cooling too..ya ya..so not tt bad..not like sin..jus a short distance we can sweat like mad..ya lor ya lor..

after 24hrs of long flight n transit...finally we reach our destination..the plane was like omg the space was so small..cant really slp well but atleast manage to catch a few hours of slp la..food are 好看 but not really 好吃..anyway ya la..atleast manage to get some nice shot on the plane...

oh yes..mus first xie xie every single one tt came to send me off...daddy mummy ah hui..and frens tt really care..esp DEBORAH CHIA!! thx for that monkey arh!! i uds the motive of it...hahx anyway hopefully 'shuan le' is in good hands...i tink i shld mention their names la...thx yu n yut for arranging the stuff n for the clothes bag n most impt laptop!! thank you to alden for driving me to the airport..tt was a nice ride=) xie xie jh biao ge for the last sin food i ate b4 i depart..thx to zp for ying chou-ing my dad while having supper..and also yong ming for the farewell treat n for turning up at the airport w sx n ken..hai you many many that wanted to send me off but i uds is really too early le..and anyway i ll jus be away for 6wks la...not 6mnt..hahx..yup yup..still thx thx thx

hmmm okay so we went in at 450am to board the flight..frm siin to tokyo narita..hhax..at narita airport we saw this interesting thing..so there is shower room provided for ppl to shower..500yen for 30min..hahx..wonder whether changi airport hav?? so nxt stop narita to detriot..omg that was like 12hr flight lor..even worse then frm sin to narita somemore no personal tv de..ya lor..so we flew frm narita at 415pm and reach detriot at 3pm..hahax..ya la..luckily no jetlag la..guess this the only time when u can hav more then 24hrs a day...let me post a pic taken at detriot.. the departure hall very very long..so there is this tram that help to transport u from one end to another...ya..is double of lrt length but then not much ppl take de leh..ya..okay so finally our last flight..to philadelphia..a smaller plane n oso the only plane that we got to seat near the window..yup yup..and here the only time we got a chance to take a pic on the plane..and finally we reach PHILADELPHIA!!

when we reach it was already abt 7pm..the sky was still quite bright leh..ya not tt bad..so took a taxi to dr wang's place..while the driver drove pass the university city..it was like walking into movie scene..it was so different from singapore la..all the buildings so antique..ya lor..so finally aft mths of interviews, sourcing for accomodation n airtix, getting all the immunization done..we are here=)

there is this block party going on when we arrive..so dr wang brng us over to hav our dinner..the ppl are so different..you jus say hi n introduce urself to any1..they are so friendly..but the ting is we dont really uds wat they toking abt la..hahx.so aft dinner dr wang brought us around to show us where the supermarket are n explain the layout of the street..she is a very nice lady la..ya ya..but she really walk very very fast!!hahx..yup..tts abt all for day 1..
